January 2017 will go down in the history books as a month to forget for Liverpool fans, as the Reds failed to win a single Premier League match and saw their only victory across all competitions coming in unconvincing fashion against Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup.
Having held league leaders Chelsea to a draw in their final match of the month though, Jurgen Klopp’s side may feel a bit more confident ahead of a crucial month in the race for the top-four; with Liverpool tackling Hull City, Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City.
The Tigers may be feeling pleased with themselves as they held Manchester United to a draw in midweek but BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson expects Liverpool to return to winning ways here, as he identified in his prediction:
“Hull got a great point at Old Trafford in midweek but this is another very tough game for them. After their run of poor form, Liverpool were much improved in their draw against Chelsea. If Hull open up a bit, Liverpool will punish them.”
Hull, sat second bottom with just 17 points to their name this season, certainly face an uphill battle and the majority of Liverpool fans will expect a win here.
