There could be a few exits with both Nathan Ferguson and Ahmed Hegazi wanted by other clubs while Albion have been linked to several players over the past few weeks, including Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen.
In addition, the uncertainty over whether or not West Ham loanee Grady Diangana will remain at the club will rumble on as he’s able to be recalled over a two-week period.
The Athletic believe that the club have a contingency plan in place for any eventualities, one of which is the possibility of calling back their own player, Jonathan Leko, from his loan spell at league rivals Charlton Athletic.
However, the 20-year-old suffered a potentially serious injury at the weekend after he was withdrawn early doors during the Addicks 2-2 draw with Queens Park Rangers.
The winger has returned to the Hawthorns for scans, but manager Lee Bowyer has revealed his worries, he said: “The physio has just said to me that it’s a knee injury and it doesn’t look good. It doesn’t look like it’s a very good injury. Another knee one. Unfortunately, we can’t control that.”
That’s one of West Brom’s contingency plans out the window for the time being as there’s a good chance of him being injured for the foreseeable future and with January less than a week away, that has to be thrown in to doubt.
