So much can happen in a year, and one thing is certain – even after winning gold, this USWNT is on an ever-evolving journey
The U.S. Women's national team’s triumphant gold medal run at the 2024 Olympics marked a pinnacle of excellence, in more ways than one.
On Aug. 10 last year, Emma Hayes' side defeated Brazil 1-0 in the final of the Paris Games, marking the sixth gold medal game appearance for the USWNT – out of eight Olympics in which women's soccer was contested – and fifth win. The history is undeniable: The USWNT have the most Olympic gold and most total medals in the history of the Games, having won five golds, one silver and one bronze.
So nearly a year later, where are they now? So much can happen in a year, and one thing is certain, this USWNT is on an ever-evolving journey. From marriages to pregnancies to record-breaking moves to Europe to retirements and more, it's been a dynamic 12 months for that gold medal-winning USWNT.
