Manchester United midfielder Anderson has admitted that he has a make-or-break season ahead of him, and has confirmed that he is fit and raring to go for next term.
The Brazil international has not lived up to expectations since moving to the Old Trafford side from Porto in 2007, with injuries ravaging his campaign in 2011-12.
However the South American star is ready to show his worth next season.
“I need to prove what I can do. I know the boss and my team-mates believe in me, I’ve just had bad luck,” Anderson is quoted as saying in Mirror Football.
“I want to improve as much as I can and help the team win trophies. I just want to play. For me, this season is very important.
“I know I have to be very focused on my football. I’ll still have a laugh and a joke with my team-mates.
“But I know I must be really focused on my job. I really want to show what I can do this season, produce my best and help the team.
“I feel good. I had a nice holiday and I’ve had no problem with my leg. This season it’s very important that I don’t have any more injuries.
“I started last season with no problems but then I started to feel my knee a bit. It’s just one of those things – some players have injuries and others don’t.
“I’m just focused on staying fit now and doing my best to work hard and give 100 per cent for the team. I just try to stay positive.
“These things happen in football. I’m still young and I can’t let myself get down because I’ve had two bad injuries. It’s important to stay happy because I’m at the best club in the world,” he confessed.
