Everton are the latest Premier League club to join the chase for Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey, according to The Sun.
What’s the word?
Arsenal are on a roll after winning their last nine matches across all competitions prior to the international break but there is still plenty of work to be done in North London, with major changes on the horizon at the Emirates Stadium.
Wales international Aaron Ramsey looks extremely likely to leave in 2019 as his contract expires at the end of the campaign, while Arsenal could look to cash-in during the January transfer window in order to earn a fee for his services.
According to The Sun, the race for Ramsey’s signature is heating up as Everton are plotting an ambitious move and could offer the 27-year-old a wage of up to £150k-a-week in order to persuade him to move to Goodison Park.
Good news for Arsenal?
If Ramsey were to remain in the Premier League, then Arsenal would surely prefer to see their long-serving midfielder join a club like Everton rather than moving to unite with one of the Gunners’ direct rivals for Champions League football.

While a move to Everton could still come back to haunt Arsenal further down the line, it would be more comparable to Jack Wilshere’s move to West Ham in the summer rather than Alexis Sanchez’s departure to join Manchester United in January.
However, it remains to be seen whether Ramsey would consider joining Everton when a host of top clubs are linked with his services and he may feel that he is better served by sealing a move to a side that has been more competitive in recent years.
